What question do you hate being asked?
My answer hasn't changed since the last time you asked, Vox.
What's your favorite song from a Disney movie?
I seriously don't know that I could pick just one. But for the purposes of not making you all crazy, I'll go with "Part of Your World" from The Little Mermaid.
Where will you be eating Thanksgiving Dinner this year?
In my back yard with the extended family. Lovey's frying not one, but two turkeys. (OMG if you haven't had fried turkey you ain't livin!) Kiddo's making sweet potato muffins. Lovey's aunt has a CRAZY list of food she's making. And I am doing absolutely nothing but eating.
THANKS!
If you could dream about anything tonight, what would it be?
Wednesday's winning lottery numbers.
What is your definition of home?
Submitted by naynay72
Home is the place where I feel safe, where I can take refuge from the rest of the world. It's MY corner, my personal space. It is where I can grow and build and share, where I can entertain and be entertained. It's the place I would always rather be. It's where the sun shines a little brighter and the night isn't quite as dark. It's where I love and where I am loved.
How were you punished as a child?
In the way children should be punished. My mom tore up some asses. This whole, you can't spank your kids crap is part of the reason that kids have gone freaking wild as far as I'm concerned. Mind you, my dad never (or maybe once) gave us the belt. I guess either mom was the designated bad guy or dad might have been too strong for such stuff.
Once, my mom turned into a ninja. I had neglected to do some cleaning that I had been warned (probably several times) about. Well, MommaShyner called me down to my room. She jumped out from behind the door and proceeded to put the smackdown on me, ninja with a belt style. Yeah, I got punished, but I think that even then, within a day, we were laughing about it.
Ah, the good old days.
What are you most looking forward to in August?
Wow, nothing. Thanks for pointing it out. A full month of school, no holidays, birthdays, anniversaries, any reason in general to have a party.
I guess I'll be looking forward to it being over. :-P
What part of your childhood do you miss the most?

As I watch the world go by and I see the crap that I need to protect Kiddo from and the stuff I can't protect her from and she has to deal with on her own, it makes me realize how much better the world was 20-some years ago.
When I was growing up, we had an innocence and a freedom that just isn't afforded the youth of today. My brother and I were the only black kids around yet we were treated just like everyone else (for the most part). We didn't lock our doors or our cars and we could walk around our neighborhood without fear of rapists or killers.
So yeah, I miss that innocence. The spontaneity of getting up and just doing whatever, whenever. The freedom to sleep late and stay up late to play hide and go freeze or release or HORSE, or peg or any other ridiculous game we made up.
I don't wanna grow up, I'm a Toys R Us kid.
